NGJ 2011 – Photos!

This year we were fortunate to have two great photographers taking pictures at the Nordic Game Jam!

The picture below was taken from the pre-party Thursday 27 January. We did not know that games researchers from IT University were into capoeira?!

NGJ honoured at Danish Game Awards

Again this year Danish Game Awards chose to point their spotlight at initiatives that helps expose Denmark. We were up against the wide spread game engine Unity 3D, a major e-sport tournament in FIFA and community that help teachers use games as part of learning in schools.

Nordic Game Jam won the award and were thereby recognized as an event that makes a difference. Without the support of all the participants this award wouldn’t mean anything. So we wanna thank you all for showing up and helping making NGJ the biggest and best Game Jam i the world.

INVITATION TO A FREE WORKSHOP!

We were proud to have NoGap as our sponsor on this years Nordic Game Jam. Maz showed up at the end of the jam to pitch a vision of theirs. They would love to help you guys out there to take your games to another level. It’s not just Game Jam entries, but for every body who think they have an idea that is “good” enough for commercial usage.

Hail the winners of Nordic Board Game Jam 2011!!

As a first-time track the Board Games at Nordic Game Jam was a fantastic mix of creativity, cool mechanics and great people. We saw games like the evil board game President Evil, the eatable Chicken Farm, the zombie-game (with glow in the dark pieces) 28 minutes later, the online/realtime/board gamish Hero Network and the really evil Merchants of Death, where the players take turns to profit from wartorn countries.

But but but – the winners of the Audience Award was:

28 Minutes Later

A tight little board game about a zombie-invasion, where the last man standing wins – but everybody dies in the end.

The Jurys Prize went to the eatable boardgame

Chicken Farm

Thanks to all the attendees, and we have already plans for a bigger, badder, better Nordic Board Game Jam in 2012.

In the meantime check out the pictures from the jam on Flickr.

Hugs – Kim, PJ and Thomas
